Take your water sports skills to a whole new level with us. Experience the great and varied world of water sports on the Cape Verdean island of Sal. Discover new dream spots and get ready for a big portion of Cape Verdean adventure.
Do you already have some experience in water sports? Whether it’s windsurfing, wingsurfing or kitesurfing. Perfect! Then our kite and wing camp is just the right place for you. We will help you progress in your favorite sport in a specific and individual way and start from your current level. From zero to hero.
The camp can be booked flexibly in the period of 01.02. – 15.02.. Minimum duration is 7 days. Accommodation is included in the price.
Simply let us know your desired period or your general travel plans in an initial conversation by phone or by e-mail and we will design your surf camp together.
Arrival and departure
Arrival and departure to Sal, Cape Verde must be arranged by yourself. You are welcome to book a flight with our partner ReiseHus St. Peter – Ording. (https://reisehus.de/site/startseite/ / telephone: +49 4863 / 47 89 37 ). Flights are available almost daily from Germany and the rest of Europe. Mostly with a transfer, but direct connections are also possible. Especially when you are based in Portugal it is very easy to get to Sal
Accomodation
You will be staying at the Pensão Alcinda Bettencourt, which is located right next to our surf school “SantaKite” in Santa Maria. Praia António Sousa Beach, Santa Maria Beach and Ponta da Fragata Beach are also nearby.
In addition to the great location, your accommodation also offers a terrace, a bar and free WiFi.
The guesthouse has various rooms. All double rooms are equipped with a small kitchenette and have a stove and fridge. However, the 2 single rooms do not have a kitchenette. Breakfast is included in the price and is served in the Café Columbus right next door.

A typical week in our Surfacmp can look like this:
Day 1 – Get together
- Gathering at the guesthouse with a non-alcoholic welcome cocktail. Afterwards room allocation and a tour of the kite school and the beach including a short team introduction. 🙂
- Tour of Santa Maria
- Dinner together and preview of the time ahead
Day 2
- Kite course 07:00 – 09:00 – We want to be alone on the water as much as possible so that we can train undisturbed and effectively.
- Wing course 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Wing courses take place at a different spot, less busy here
- Breakfast at Café Columbus from 07:30 – 10:30am
- No planned activities for the rest of the day
Day 3
- Kite course 07:00 – 09:00 – We want to be alone on the water as much as possible so that we can train undisturbed and effectively.

Day 7

- Hike to the mountain “Cabeza de Salina”

The Kite school is open daily from 9am to 6pm.
Equipment rental during our courses
Hiring equipment during the courses is possible depending on capacity. Information on prices can be viewed here.
The rental of equipment for surfing or snorkeling is possible regardless of capacity. Just ask us about this.
Tip: Wetsuits are not necessary due to the pleasantly warm temperatures. Just pack a lycra as sun protection.
The storage of equipment is also possible by arrangement, just call us or send us an e-mail.

Activities on SAL
Would you like to take your partner with you who has nothing to do with surfing or are you looking for something to do for wind-free hours?
Then the multifaceted island of Sal has a lot to offer in addition to our range of courses.
Swimming and snorkeling in the turquoise-blue water, for example, is very possible. We can also plan a snorkeling trip together with you.
There are also countless other activities on Sal, such as:
- Jogging through the SAL salt pans
- Yoga by arrangement with our yoga trainer
- Deep-sea fishing after independent booking via the fishermen at the pier. Ricardo has contacts here
- Hiking to the Cabecasalina mountain with one of us. Flyingfox (zipline) from the mountain down to the beach
- Snorkeling with Ricardo and his harpoon. Catching fish together for the barbecue evening
- Surfing with professional surfer Ricardo and Bernardo in a beginner’s wave bay on Sal
- Fish lunch with Carlos directly at the fishing pier in the center
- Strolling and shopping in the center of Santa Maria
- Evening walk followed by a sunset session in Ponta Preta
- Massage in Santa Maria
- Party and live music in the trendy Cintaloca bar. Ice-cold draught beer and delicious cocktails
- Guided island tour
- Watching sweet lemon sharks in the bay of Pedra de lume
- … and a whole lot more.

Booking & Price
The price for the surf camp is €1250 per person. This includes 10 lessons, 6 nights in a double room incl. breakfast, airport transfer, a barbeque evening and an unforgettable trip with lots of great people.
